Solid Waste Disposal Information

Landfill and Transfer facility Locations

Before you go
How we dispose of our garbage affects the environment and our health. It's important to be aware of what should be recycled at the curb, brought to recycling depots, or disposed of in another way than sent to the landfill. The ultimate goal is to have as little material going to landfills as possible.

A large percentage of waste that is brought to the landfills can be recycled or reused. By paying close attention to what we're putting in our garbage cans, and recycling materials whenever possible, we can increase the stream of goods produced by recycling rather than using up precious space and money in landfills.

There are many private companies that accept waste materials such as metals and appliances at little or no charge. All paper and cardboard are banned from landfill disposal and must be recycled. Check our Recycling Directory first to save yourself some money and time and to help conserve valuable space in our landfills.

If you're taking waste material to the landfill, please be sure to cover your load with a tarp in accordance with local bylaws and help keep our roads safe and clean.
