During the current COVID-19 health emergency, RDCO Building Inspectors are continuing to complete inspections while minimizing personal contact during inspections and ensuring that the minimum two metre physical distance standard is respected at all times. Building inspections are only being conducted for unoccupied and vacant buildings.
To further ensure the health and safety of our employees and customers, all requests for onsite inspections will also be subject to review and approval to proceed on a case by case basis.
Customers wishing to make an appointment are asked to please submit your request and purpose details to firstname.lastname@example.org. Inspection Services staff will contact you to determine what alternate options need to be made for document submission (e.g. by email, general post, drop box or project site).
For more information or for general building and permit inquiries, please continue to contact: Inspection Services at (250) 469-6211 or email@example.com

Building permits are required for construction and renovations of any structure, including sewer systems, fences and outbuildings.
Inspections are required to approve various states of construction.
Property owners should also be aware of the importance of Interface fire protection and, where possible, consider the use of building products that can reduce the potential threat of an interface fire. To Call for an Inspection
Inspections are required at various stages in the construction process to ensure that construction conforms to the minimum standards of the BC Building Code. Please call 24 hours in advance for your inspection. Inspection requests received on the same day will only be done if time permits. Otherwise the inspection request will be carried over to the next scheduled inspection day.
Inspection Days Schedule
Inspections for the Central Okanagan West Electoral Area are Tuesday and Thursday each week.
Inspections for the Central Okanagan East Electoral Area are Wednesday each week.
Inspections are carried out between 08:00 am to 4:00 pm on each scheduled inspection day.
As Building Inspectors are unable to provide a specific inspection time, the work to be inspected must be ready at any time during the morning. Construction can only proceed once you have received inspection approval. When more than one re-inspection is required, a re-inspection fee of $75.00 must be paid prior to the re-inspection.
