SIR Web Mapping Application Help

How to use the Quick Zoom dropdowns (not filters).

  • These dropdowns are intended to help you quickly zoom to a zone, area or orchard,
they are not designed to 'filter' your selection to the next dropdown.

  • The Property dropdown is for anyone who knows the exact address they are looking for, as stored by SIR.
Do not bother 'searching' for an address, simply click inside the box once, and start typing.
The dropdown will jump to what you are typing, then you can make your selection.

What exactly does the date range change?, and how do I change it?

  • The date range changes the color gradient of the orchards, as well as the 'title' of the MapTip (the pop-up).

  • To change the date range either change the 'end' date by clicking on the calendar image and selecting a date.
  • The 'start' date will follow. OR,
to extend the date range, simply change the number of weeks or months to summarize.

  • Click 'Refresh Map' for the changes to take affect.

What do the colors mean?

  • The color gradient represents the severity of Wild Moth counts based on the selected date range.
(light pink = low, dark purple = high)

  • The range of Wild Moth counts within each color changes dynamically, depending on the date range selected, and the data returned.

Why are there no colors?

  • No colors means that there is no data for the selected date range.
  • As a result, the orchards will not display, and you will not be able to access any further info.

How do I see more info? ie. how do I expand the MapTip?

  • Once you are hovering over an orchard or a trap, a MapTip will pop-up. A single click anywhere in the orchard or on the trap,
or anywhere in the MapTip title box will expand the MapTip.

What do the "NaN's" mean?

  • NaN means 'not a number' and is the equivalent to a 'null' that you may be more accustomed to seeing.
  • These usually occur at the start or end of the year.

  • To explain further, the row of data was created in the table because somewhere in the valley data has been
collected for this week, just not in the orchard that you are looking at.

  • Please also be aware that the data in this table (the weekly data) is not live. Due to the amount of data that needs to be processed
to create this table, it is refreshed nightly and may not exactly match the data being returned by the date range query (which is live data).

Exporting data and expected wait times.

  • Exporting data will export the raw data (not summarized by orchard) including all traps and all of their counts.
  • You can generally expect 1 month of data to take about 10-15 seconds to download.
