Crime Prevention - What We Do
Community Policing and Crime Prevention programs within the
Regional District of Central Okanagan are managed by the Crime
Prevention Coordinator.
The Coordinator takes a leadership role in the organization and
delivery of a wide variety of programs that range from public
education to direct prevention activities. Presentations by staff
and volunteers are available to groups and businesses to help
prevent crime before it happens.
Community participation is a key component in the war against
crime.
Over 250 volunteers are actively involved in the
Community Policing and Crime Prevention Programs. Under the
direction of the Crime Prevention Coordinator these volunteers
assist the RCMP and other key partners, including ICBC, in making
the community a safer place to live.
The Menu buttons offer a more detailed description of each
program and service available from Community Policing and Senior
Safety and Scams to, "How you can become a Volunteer."
There are also a variety of Crime Prevention organizations that
