We are open Monday through Friday from 8:00 am until 4:00 pm. We are closed for
all statutory holidays.

The main administration building is located at 1450 KLO Road in Kelowna. Our main

Where do I pay my Property Taxes?
Where you pay depends on where your property is in the Central Okanagan. If you
have property in either the
Central Okanagan East or
Central Okanagan West Electoral Areas (excluding Westbank First Nation reserves), you pay your Property Tax bill
to the BC Government Surveyor of Taxes. For more information follow the link to

City of Kelowna property owners pay your Property Tax Bill to the
City of Kelowna.
Property owners in the
District of West Kelowna
pay their property tax
bill to the
District of West Kelowna. Lake Country property owners pay their Property Tax bill
to the
District of Lake Country. Peachland property owners pay their Property Tax
bill to the
District of Peachland. Property owners on Westbank First Nation reserves
pay their property tax bill to the
Westbank First Nation. All property taxes are due July 2nd.

How do I pay my Regional District utility bill or other Regional District bill for
services?
There are many options for paying your bills from the Regional District. Well accept
your payment by mail, in person, through a financial institution or online. Click

When is my garbage/recycling picked up?
The pick-up dates vary depending on the area in which you reside. Please view our
Garbage Collection and
Recycling pages for more
information including downloadable pick-up schedules, maps and other useful information.

What restrictions are there for the amount of garbage I can put at the curb for
pick-up?
In the Central Okanagan
with the automated waste
collection program you are limited to
one 120-litre wheeled
container of
garbage per week.
A larger size container
is available from your
municipality for an
additional annual fee. If you have more than the limit, you may purchase extra tags to
attach for up to two extra bags/containers. Tags may be purchased from several locations.

Where is the Landfill and what are the hours of operation?
There are two landfill sites in the Central Okanagan. The Regional District operates
the Westside Sanitary landfill and the City of Kelowna operates the Glenmore Landfill.

Where can I get information on West Nile Virus and Mosquito Control?
For information about West Nile Virus, or to report any dead corvids (crows, magpies,
ravens) contact the Interior Health Authority. Check its website at
http://www.interiorhealth.ca.
The Regional District of Central Okanagan is responsible for the Mosquito Control
program on public lands. Follow

I have found a dog or cat, what should I do?
For dogs and cats, please contact the Kelowna SPCA shelter on Casorso Road. Their
phone number is (250) 861-7722. FOR DOGS ONLY, you may also contact
the Regional District Dog Pound at (250) 469-6284. If you are calling the pound
after hours, please leave your name, phone number, a description of the dog found
and if possible, any tag identification.

What should I do if I've lost a dog or cat?
FOR DOGS ONLY,
contact the dog pound operated by the Regional District at (250) 469-6284,
if you are calling after hours please leave your name, number, a description of
your dog, and the location it went missing from/location you found the dog on the
pound voice mail. As a follow up, you should also contact the pound again during
regular business hours to ensure your message was received. In addition, for dogs
and cats you should contact the Kelowna SPCA at (250) 861-7722.

How do I make a complaint about a dog?
If you wish to make a complaint about a dog in your area you may contact our office
from Monday thru Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (closed from 1:00 p.m. to
2:00 p.m. and statutory holidays). Please read the following first:
- Please note that barking dog complaints in the City of Kelowna boundaries must be
directed to the City of Kelowna Bylaw Enforcement Department at (250) 862-3361.
- All Humane Issues / Animal Cruelty concerns including Hot Dogs must be directed
to the Kelowna S.P.C.A. at (250) 861-7722.
All other complaints can be made directly to our office by calling (250) 860-9322.
If our office is closed and you are reporting a seriously injured stray dog or a
dog that is currently at large AND attacking ONLY, call our emergency line at (250)
979-0925.

Where can I buy a dog license and how much does it cost?
There are dozens of dog licensing agents throughout the Central Okanagan. Please
check the link for a list of
Dog License Agents . The cost of a license varies. Licenses for dogs that
are spayed or neutered cost $16 per year. Licenses for dogs that aren't spayed or
neutered cost $50 per year.

I don't have any water, whom should I call?
You should determine who provides your water service, as there are several water
purveyors throughout the Central Okanagan (the easiest way of doing this is to look
at a recent water bill). The Regional District of Central Okanagan maintains and
operates water systems
in the Killiney Beach, Westshore, Falcon
Ridge, Trepanier Bench
(Dietrich), Star Place or Sunset Ranch areas, the Regional District
is your water supplier. During regular office hours (Monday to Friday, 8am - 4pm)
please call our main office at (250) 469-6241. The number for after hours
emergency calls only for problems with water service in these areas is (250) 868-5299.
