Batteries/Cell Phones
Cell phones can be
returned to their place
of purchase or at most
electronic retailers.

The Kelowna Food Bank
also accepts them

Non-rechargeable batteries may be recycled at some retail locations. Please
check with your retailer whether
non-rechargeable batteries are voluntarily accepted for recycling

Bicycle Tires
Tire Stewardship BC, in
partnership with the
bicycle industry has a
bicycle tire recycling
program in place.
Tires are recycled into
a form of mulch that can
be used in playgrounds
and landscaping.
Old tires may be
returned to
participating bicycle
retailers and the
program suggests
contacting the retailer
first, to confirm participation in the

Glass containers may be recycled at local bottle depots. Please return your

Computer and Electronics Recycling
On August 1st, 2007 the BC Government and Encorp launched a province-wide
Return-It Electronics program
for the safe and responsible recycling of computers, printers,
monitors, fax machines and tv's.
This program was
expanded in August 2010
to include popular
