Ways To Donate and Volunteer

Parks are a legacy we leave for future generations. You may choose to contribute to this legacy by providing a donation to your favourite park.

You might like to mark a special occasion such as an anniversary or birthday or you may want to commemorate the life of a loved one in a place they enjoyed.

Listed below are some of the current options to donate or volunteer. You will receive a charitable donation tax receipt for most contributions. Please feel free to contact our office for further details or to discuss a donation.

Bench Donation Program

Many parks offer the opportunity for a donated bench with 3 x 6 bronze acknowledgement plaque. Parks Services staff will work with you to find a suitable location for your donation.  For more information about the bench program please review the following guides:

Park and Recreation Projects

There are also several park and recreation projects to which donations can be made. These include...

  • Gellatly Nut Farm Regional Park
  • Special Events - such as the Kokanee Festival - require the help of community- minded Corporate Sponsors

Ways to Volunteer

The donation of time is a valuable contribution that can be made to give back to our community.  Regional Park events may be something that you consider.

  • Become a Special Event volunteer
  • Become a volunteer hike leader or park ambassador
  • Volunteer at Gellatly Nut Farm Regional Park each September to November to help with the nut harvest
  • Organize a weed pull, poop scoop or clean-up in a Regional Park.

For more information about how you can volunteer or donate to a Regional Park, please contact Regional Park Services at 250-469-6232 or email parks@cord.bc.ca
