Our Partners
We'd like to say THANKS!
A big part of the reason the Regional Parks system is so successful is that we have
the opportunity to work with community organizations on many projects.
Mission Creek Greenway Phase 2
The Friends of Mission Creek are fundraising and assisting with the future construction
of Mission Creek Greenway Phase 3. This exciting project will develop a continuation
of the popular recreational trail from Scenic Canyon Regional Park just below Gallagher's
golf course farther up the water shed.
These additional kilometres will extend the Greenway beyond its16 kilometer multi-use
trail which include 5 bridges, scenic lookouts and interpretive information.
Watch for upcoming events and ways that you too can be involved in helping make
Phase 3 of the Greenway a reality.
For more information check out the Friends website at

Gellatly Nut Farm Regional Park
A group of Westside residents joined together and formed the Gellatly Nut Farm Society.
The Society assisted the Regional District in the purchase of the Gellatly Nut Farm
on Whitworth Road.
This exciting project preserves a historic nut orchard as well as providing residents
a 9.88-acre park with a beach and heritage buildings.
While the Regional Parks Department operates the park, the society will continue
its fundraising efforts to help develop the park and restore the heritage buildings.
Kalamoir Regional Park
A keen group of local residents called the Friends of Kalamoir Regional Park act
as park stewards. They started in 2003 with a park clean up event and continue with
daily efforts assisting Regional Parks staff in keeping the park clean and trails
in good shape. The Friends also hold an annual fundraising pancake breakfast,
usually in mid September.
Robert Lake Regional Park
The Central Okanagan Naturalists Club has been a strong supporter of the Regional
Parks Department for many years. In 2003 / 2004 the club provided funds for a small
parking area and an interpretive kiosk at Robert Lake Regional Park.
