Okanagan Safe Harbour

Features and Things To Do:

Okanagan Centre Safe Harbour provides safety for boaters during a storm with one of the only safe harbours in the area. The harbour contains two docks for emergency and pedestrian use, a small swimming beach and a boat launch.

Notice to Boaters - Update - June 29, 2010 -- the main recreational boat launch is temporarily open again for use with higher water levels and a temporary repair planned. View News Release. It's expected it will be temporarily closed this summer while permanent repairs are made.

When available this boat launch is suitable for smaller recreational boats and trailers due to lower lake water levels.

General Information:

Okanagan Centre Safe Harbour is 1.71 acres on Okanagan Centre Road in Lake Country. It is open year round and has washroom facilities.

Dogs must be kept on a leash within park boundaries and owners should clean up after their pets. Overnight camping, open fires and smoking are not permitted.

From May 1st through September 30th, the gate will be closed nightly at 10:00 pm and unlocked at 5:00 am each day.  Information is posted in the parking area for anyone locked behind the gate after hours on how to get their vehicle released.  Boaters in need of refuge or any other emergency are able to access the Safe Harbour at any time.  From October 1st through April 30th the gate is not locked.
