A big part of the reason the parks and facilities system is so successful is that we have the opportunity to work with community organizations on many projects. Here are a couple for 2004.

Ellison Parks and Recreation Society

The Ellison Parks and Recreation Society worked with the Regional District to renovate and restore the Ellison Heritage School Centre. They continue to operate the community hall and host many fundraising and community events. If you'd like to help them out phone (250) 765-7121.

Joe Rich Ratepayers and Tenants Society

The Joe Rich Ratepayers and Tenants Society, or JRATS as they are known, are an active group in the Joe Rich area. In recent years they have helped to acquire and develop the Philpott Trail and also operate the Joe Rich Hall.   For more information about their community activities you can phone (250) 765-0778 .
