Business Licensing and Regulations Bylaw

The various requirements that apply to businesses are regulated through the use of business licenses.  All businesses located and operating in the Central Okanagan East and Central Okanagan West Electoral Areas are required to have a business license.

This bylaw is enforced on a continual basis in the electoral Areas of the Regional District.

Regional District of Central Okanagan Business Licensing Bylaw No. 689 provides for the licensing of businesses.  It ensures that the various businesses, which establish and operate in the Regional District Electoral Areas are doing so in accordance with Regional District bylaws.  To achieve this goal, it is mandatory for all businesses to apply for a business license and that the information obtained on the Business License Application is kept current.  The Regional District is now a participating jurisdiction in the Inter-Community Business Licensing program.

Regional District business licenses may be obtained several ways. The easiest and most convenient is to go online and complete an application (Link to Virtual District Office).  You may also download an application form, or you may stop by the Development Services Department on the 2nd Floor of the Regional District of Central Okanagan office.   For email inquiries regarding business licensing please contact:  business@cord.bc.ca

Inter-Community Business License!

The Regional District is participating in the Inter-Community Business Licensing program.  If you operate a business with the Central Okanagan East and/or Central Okanagan West Electoral Areas and also operate in one or more of the participating jurisdictions, you may wish to purchase an Inter-Community Business License.  If so, you must have a Regional District business license first, before purchasing an Inter-Community Business License, covering most communities in the Okanagan-Similkameen corridor.  Eligible businesses in participating municipalities can upgrade to a this Business License for an additional fee of $150.00.  Link to Inter-Community Business License Program Information
