Fire fighter Recruitment
The Westside Fire Department provides effective fire protection and public safety
services to those areas within the Westside Fire Protection Service Area. This includes
fire prevention, fire safety inspections, fire control and/or suppression as well
as medical first response.
The Regional District of Central Okanagan conducts a rigorous recruitment and testing
process when recruiting and hiring fire fighters. Applicants are issued a confidential
number that is to be used throughout the recruitment and testing process and information
for them at each stage of the competition will be posted on this page. The spring 2007 recruitment is complete and we thank all applicants

While we are not currently hiring full-time fire fighters for the department, it
is anticipated new positions will be recruited during 2008. Any updates on
this recruitment campaign will be posted on this page.
In the interim, opportunities may exist for paid on-call volunteer fire fighter
