Subdivision Bylaw
The Subdivision Bylaw attempts to balance the unique quality of life we enjoy in
the Central Okanagan with growing urban development. The Subdivision and Development
Servicing Bylaw No. 704 was adopted by the Regional Board in July, 1997.
Bylaw 704 is a comprehensive document which sets the minimum standard for works
and services which must be constructed or installed to service any subdivision or
development within the Regional District
Electoral Areas. Bylaw 704 does not apply to the incorporated
areas of Peachland, Lake Country,
West Kelowna, the City of Kelowna or First Nation Lands.
Works and services included in Bylaw 704 are highways, walkways, water distribution
systems, community sewer, onsite disposal systems, storm drainage systems, street
lighting, and underground wiring. The type and extent of works and services
required at the time of subdivision or building permit is dependant of the current
zoning of the parcel and is outlined in
Table C.2.2 on pages 100-101 of Bylaw 704.
