A Smart Transit Plan has been developed for the Central Okanagan to help shape the future of the Kelowna Regional Transit System.  The goal is to promote better integration of transit and land use planning policies in pursuit of Smart Growth over the next 20 years, combating urban sprawl and costly infrastructure development, such as roads and utility servicing.  Public transit plays an essential role in ensuring a strong community while enhancing our quality of life and providing a viable, alternative form of transportation to the automobile.

The Regional District of Central Okanagan, City of Kelowna and District of Peachland sponsored the plan in conjunction with a grant from the Federation of Canadian Municipalities.  View the Smart Transit Plan Final Report (96 pages, 5 MB)
