Sustainability Steering Committee
The members of the Sustainability Steering Committee include the four Mayors of
municipalities in the Central Okanagan (City of Kelowna, District of Lake Country,
District of Peachland and Westside District Municipality) and the Chair of the Regional
District of Central Okanagan board. The committee is chaired by Robert Hobson
while Peachland Mayor Graham Reid is Vice-Chair.
The Committee is responsible for reporting to the Regional Board on the following:
- Oversee the development of the Regional Sustainability Strategy;
- Seek consensus from the Regional partners on the Strategy;
- Explore partnerships;
- Seek funding both internally and externally;
- Guide the Region's public involvement and education process on sustainability;

Develop goals and priority initiatives and establish benchmarks of progress.
Meetings of the Sustainability Steering Committee are open to the public and are
