Planning and Environment Committee (no longer active)

With the incorporation of the Westside District Municipality in December 2007, this committee was disbanded and its work is now undertaken by the Governance and Services Committee.  Link to Regional Board and Committee Schedule or Governance and Services Committee webpage.

When it was active, the Planning and Environment Committee was made up of 8 Directors of the Regional Board.  During 2007, Westside Director Len Novakowski was the Chair, while Westside Director Aaron Dinwoodie acted as Vice-Chair.

The Committee was responsible for the following roles:

• Regional Planning
• Planning in the Electoral Areas
• Housing
• Water Resource Planning
• Zoning
• Land Resource Management Plan Implementation
• Environmentally Sensitive Areas
• Public Education

The Committee reported to the Regional Board on the following areas:

• Okanagan Basin Water Board
• Sterile Insect Release Board
• Community Health Advisory Committee
• Advisory Planning Committees (Westside North, Westside South, Ellison/Joe Rich)
• Agricultural Advisory Committee

Meetings of the Planning and Environment Committee were open to the public.
