The Regional District of Central Okanagan has become one of the
most desirable places in which to live in the Province. We are
located in the heart of the scenic Okanagan Valley, just a
five-hour drive from Vancouver and the Lower Mainland and about two
hours north of the border with Washington State along Highway
97.

The appeal of Okanagan Lake, the natural beauty of the surrounding
hillsides and the fragrant orchards and vineyards continue to draw
people to the valley, as they did our predecessors. Our lifestyle
is second to none especially those who live to enjoy the out of
doors. Summer provides hot, dry and mostly sunny conditions that
are perfect for activities on the land (camping, golf, tennis,
hiking) or on the water (boating, fishing, water skiing). Winters
find residents Nordic or downhill skiing, snowmobiling or even
walking along our unique Mission Creek Greenway Trail.
Ranked as the third largest urban area in the Province, more than
160,000 people call the Central Okanagan home. The Regional
District places a priority on maintaining the balance between
growth and development, while protecting the natural environment
and the unique Okanagan lifestyle.
