Description:

You’re invited to the EECO (ee-COH) this weekend as we celebrate the 12th annual Family Environment Day! This year we are marking the National Wildlife Week theme of ‘Our Home and Native Plant’.
There’s something for the every member of your family Sunday, April 5th from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm in and around the Environmental Education Centre for the Okanagan in Mission Creek Regional Park (Springfield and Durnin Roads). And all the indoor and outdoor activities at this popular event are FREE.
Become part of the Climate Change solution by playing the Greenhouse Gas Game and the whole family can participate in an environmental treasure hunt. Be one of the first 100 families to register to build a bird house with supplies graciously provided by Rona!
This year’s Family Environment Day features a performance by children’s entertainer Rhonda Draper, a native snake exhibit with interpreter Scott Alexander and other activities provided by local environmental groups and naturalists.
More than 1,000 people take in this annual event that is organized by Regional District of Central Okanagan Parks Services. Special thanks to Rona and EBA Engineering Consultants Limited for their support.
